Emile Henry French Ceramic Ruffled Rectangular Baker Medium in Dark Gray

Medium-sized ceramic ruffled Emile Henry baker in a rare dark gray with stoneware bottom. I think this color is discontinued.

In great used shape. One area of light paint loss as pictured. The bottom has some staining from oven use.

Has the typical Emile Henry marks on bottom with an embossed logo on the front.

Measurements: 11 1/4" x 7 1/4" x 2 1/2" high; 2 3/4-qt. cap.

This Emile Henry ruffled baker is shaped from Burgundian clay, which absorbs, distributes and retains heat evenly, so gratins, casseroles and lasagnas brown to perfection. Inspired by vintage French bakeware, the graceful ruffled edge on the dish is based on a century-old ceramist's technique updated to simplify cutting and removing a tidy portion.
